It’s at this time of year where many homeowners grab the marigolds and the feather duster, tie on the apron and start cleaning up the house getting it ship shape ahead of the summer. It’s also a time of year where it is perfect for tidying up your exhibition trailer and getting it ready to cause a stir at this summer’s trade shows.

April is also the time of year where many new budgets are announced and important business decisions are made. With marketing strategies being put in place for this year’s outdoor events, DWT are offering fantastic deals on the refurbishment and branding of exhibition trailers for all of our valued customers. With accounts tighter than ever, we understand that budgets may be smaller than in previous years for many people, and significant numbers are looking into the benefits of hiring on a contract basis for the season or just for key events taking place throughout the year. This is a tried and tested method for many of our clients as it keeps capital investment down and removes the winter costs altogether, allowing them to really focus on the important time of year for their business.

So once you’ve decided on the markets you’re going to hit this year, it’s vital that you really make an impact. With the Olympics taking place in London this year for example, there will be numerous sporting events for you to release your latest range of sportswear. The image below shows a fantastic Leicester Tigers RUFC trailer that we helped to develop, which allows the audience to come inside and interact with an innovative ‘Spot the Ball’ competition.

Similarly events such as the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations will allow you to reach an audience in celebratory mood, making sure that your company reaches your local community, enhancing your reputation on a local basis which is particularly important.

With our help in providing the essentials such as branding, flags and point of sale support, you can really focus your efforts on engaging your audience. To find out more information, give us a call today on 01476 862 811.

Focusing all of your efforts on getting your product range and exhibition trailer design spot on for your next show is very important, but one other factor is regularly overlooked in the often hectic preparations.

The whole point of attending a conference or exhibition is to promote your brand, but if your employees aren’t great at getting the message across, your best efforts everywhere else could be wasted. It isn’t a case of hiring in staff specially trained to get the best out of your appearance at the exhibition, as no matter how well you train them they just don’t know the ins and outs of the company. Nobody understands the business and the products better than the experienced campaigners within the business, particularly those on the production line. It is crucial that the people promoting the brand are capable of doing just that by providing information from the design, manufacturing and sales end of the business.

If you have a number of different product areas, make sure you have people there who are able to explain the concepts of each product. For instance, if you have a product range consisting of ten completely different items you need to make sure that the person at the exhibition can explain the thought process behind the product, what inspired its production, where it fits into the market and how it’s going to improve the lives or productivity of those investing in it.

Exhibition staff also need to be confident, while reigning in some of the excitement associated with promoting the brand. Some customers can be put off by staff trying to explain the brand and the products in a nervy manner, making it seem as though they’re trying to make up reasons why the product is so good. Being confident enough to get the message across but also understanding that the customer needs time to consider their options is important – they could come straight back to you within minutes in that case and you’ve made your impact.

Dressing in an appropriate manner is also key. Outside the office environment many people are able to relax and almost think what they’re doing isn’t actually work, dressing down in a t-shirt, jeans and trainers. While this portrays a relaxed approach from the company, some people don’t want to see that, preferring professionalism and making formal attire the best option. If you are going for the “dress down” approach, company polo shirts or t-shirts are a must, but steer clear of taking the relaxed dress code to the show with no company branding as you may just look like another customer.

At DWT Exhibition Trailers, we have built up a reputation as one of the industry leaders – based on more than 30 years of experience in providing tailor-made trailers available for hire throughout the UK and Europe. We enjoy sharing our experience with you and are always available to discuss all areas of your exhibition requirements to help you to turn your show into a success. Contact us on 01476 862 811 to find out more.

In the latest installment of our guide to succeeding at exhibitions, we’re turning our focus on what it is you actually choose to promote. For many companies it is all about promoting the brand as a whole in an attempt to reach a new audience and increase sales. But what do you actually fill your exhibition trailer with in this situation? You can’t take your whole store with you, so it’s important that you make an impact with the cream of the crop.

With years of experience in the industry, we’ve helped numerous companies to organise their exhibits and our efforts have been rewarded by providing them with excellent return on investment. From assisting with the graphics and the size of the trailer to helping them organise their show, we’ve done it all over the years.

One of the most important things we’ve told our customers is that you cannot take your whole brand to a show. A lot of the time shows are specific to one area, such as camping. If you’re a camping and outdoor equipment firm and you take along your quad bikes for instance, you’re unlikely to receive much interest. By focusing on the right products at the right show, your efforts are much more likely to be rewarded with new business.

You may be in the fortunate position where you’ve just released a number of new items to a range. In this case, it may be an idea to take along what is arguably your signature product and a number, if not all, of your latest items so that customers can see what has developed over your existence. Potential customers and investors like to see signs of development and growth so if they see they’re buying a new, innovative product they’re more likely to return in the future.

By flooding your exhibition trailer with every item your business has ever produced, customers will inevitably miss something – purely because there is too much to see. By narrowing the focus down to a number of key items at both ends of your price scale, there is a greater opportunity for your new customers and investors to get a hands-on experience with the products and get a feel for your business.

To find out more information on how we can assist you in your preparations for your next big exhibit, contact DWT Exhibition Trailers on 01476 862 811. Our team of dedicated staff will be able to discuss a variety of options available to you, from choosing the right size for your exhibit to the design and graphics that will make you stand out from the crowd.

Getting the design of your exhibition trailer right is one of the most important factors in preparing for a show. If you can make the right impact on your audience before they’ve even approached your exhibit, you’re on the road to success. Unfortunately it isn’t as simple as plastering your trailer in logos and flashing lights (that actually puts many off) which is why DWT are here to share our years of experience to help you look the part.

In addition to helping your staff make more sales – which is obviously the aim of attending exhibition in the first place – a successful trailer will help you to raise the profile of your brand, leaving a positive and lasting impression in the minds of those who didn’t invest but may in the future.

It is important that you have the brand logo somewhere prominent. It’s okay to show off a single product that you’re promoting that may be new to the market – or the whole range, it’s up to you – but if people aren’t aware of where they can buy the product, they won’t be able to. Getting the company name and logo to stand out without being overbearing is key, ensuring that visitors to the exhibition go away saying “Did you see so-and-so’s exhibit – I thought it was really good.”

Something eye-catching but subtle at the same time is also essential. Find a way of attracting people out of the corner of their eye as well as those looking right at you. As mentioned previously, flashing lights or loud music might attract people, but often for the wrong reasons. They may be put off by the “brash and flash” and opt to spend their money elsewhere. You can be understated yet “out-there”, and stand a better chance of succeeding.

Having a tangible, working product is likely to be your biggest success story. Your potential customers can see the product you’re featuring in action, and also have the opportunity to get hands-on with it, either trying it out themselves or checking the composition of the item, they’re more likely to buy it at the time because they’re immediately convinced that the product is of the best quality and – most importantly – it works and they have met the people behind the product. If all you have is a cardboard cut-out of your industry-changing innovation people will wonder just why you don’t have it at the show and whether or not the product is going to be worth spending the money on.

Most significantly it’s important that your staff know what it is they’re selling and that they look professional. Learning the full ins and outs of the product, what it’s made of and how it works is essential, meaning they can explain your latest products to the most experienced and amateur exhibition attendee. The way they’re dressed is almost as important as the styling of the trailer itself. If you’re a company who want to give an impression of professionalism and fine craftsmanship, staff turning up to the show in trainers, shorts and a flashy branded t-shirt aren’t going to get that message across no matter how much time you spend on your pitch, trailer and product.

To find out more information on how DWT can help you to design and create a successful exhibition trailer, contact us on 01476 862 811 and we’ll be happy to talk through all of the options available to you – from the size of trailer you might need to the kind of eye-catching decals that will stop the competition in their tracks.

If you’ve already tried unsuccessfully to wow the audiences at the trade shows and exhibitions, it might be time to get back to the drawing board and evaluate where you’re going wrong. A lot of companies invest in exhibition trailers because they’ll do the business for them – which is true to some extent, but there is a lot of planning involved in putting on a successful show. Unlike ‘shell schemes’ trailers have their own presence and can benefit from ‘space only’ charges – and of course you get to keep all those special display features to use time and time again, so trailers can really help on your bottom line cost control.

While bright lights, explosions and loud music are certain to get the attention of your audience it might not be in a positive way. Encouraging them to do business with you in the form of investing in the company or buying the product is what it’s all about. The whole planning side of the event is just as important as what you do when you actually get to the exhibition. A fully prepared trailer can have all your presentation in place before the event build up – it’s like anything else – prepare well and you’re likely to succeed, failure to prepare is to prepare to fail.

The first thing you need to consider with your show is the design of your exhibition trailer. You need to make an impact in a crowded room – which can be a difficult thing to do – but there is an art to it. As mentioned previously, you don’t want the big bangs and bright flashing lights because that usually puts people off. Designing the trailer to be appealing to the eye, reflecting the colours and logos of the company and putting something on show for the customers to see is much more likely to be successful. Graphics, flags, monitors and external presentation all play their part and can be contacted in as required.

Your exhibit also needs to be welcoming and accessible. By this we don’t mean you have someone standing outside the trailer waving people in to a stand just inside the front door. We mean it needs to be a trailer that everybody has access to. Thinking about disabled customers, can they get into a trailer that only has steps at the front? No, obviously, so making it wheelchair accessible is an important consideration. Once on board having something inside for them to feel as though this company is worth investing their time and money in is much more likely to win them over than a few images on the walls – although the right images and messages are of course important elements to any display or presentation.

It sounds strange, but handouts are a very good idea. Designing leaflets and creating something that people can take away with them such as pens, stickers or small models or samples of your product is going to ensure that the brand sticks in the mind of the customer. With so many stands at exhibitions, it is essential that you make your mark on as many people as possible, encouraging them to click onto your website, give you a call or visit your branch.

The planning and design stage of the exhibition trailer is something that DWT specialise in. We work with you to produce a trailer that is professionally designed and produced to endorse your message and reflecting your corporate colours and message to provide a show-stopping display.

To find out more, contact us on 01476 862811 and we’ll be happy to talk through your options.

Exhibitions give companies and individuals the opportunity to showcase their goods and services to the public, allowing them to see exactly what the firm has to offer. This grand stage helps the brand to enhance its visibility and reach a whole new audience by putting a show on in an exhibition trailer or centre, while the public get the opportunity to get their hands on the product or to meet the people behind it.

It’s very important for the public to be able to interact with companies and their services, especially with so many sales being done over the Internet. The first time many people see the products they buy in today’s market is when the postman delivers it, so if you’re an online business, you could really increase sales by putting on a successful show at an industry exhibition.

Choosing the right event is crucial. With exhibition halls across the country putting on all kinds of shows, choosing the one that is most relevant to your industry or product, and that is likely to attract the most people interested in what you have to offer can turn your business into a success.

Exhibitions are all about making an impact, and a professionally designed exhibition trailer is the best way of catching the eye of your customer. The vivid designs and show-stopping graphics are far more likely to increase your business than the old method of setting up a table and a few leaflets. The numerous shapes and sizes of trailer on offer make them perfect for all kinds of shows, from the large outdoor events to the more compact indoor shows, trailers are the best way of standing out from the crowd – something all brands must do to be successful. Not only do they work but they are cost effective whether hired for the event or a part of your exhibition equipment and deployed over the years.

Having the option of different sized trailers gives businesses the freedom to put as little or as much as they like on show, allowing the customers to focus on one crowd-stopping product, or a range that has the whole exhibition centre talking. With crowds engrossed in the products, you can then go about the sales and promotion side of your business, helping customers to understand why they should invest in your goods and services, creating a win-win situation for both parties.

To find out more information on how a tailor made exhibition trailer can transform your fortunes at your next show, contact David Wilson Trailers, and we will be happy to discuss the options available to you and provide you with all the information you need including a full no obligation design, specification and cost estimate for hire or purchase.

Reports of a particularly good first day, good weather most of the time and many exhibitors were happy to discuss their future activity and place further hires, so well done LAMMA for an excellent start to the new season.

With the implementation of the new EU directive on type approval in October 2012 we will see significant changes to the supply chain for the construction of new trailers. The biggest change will affect the design and construction of any ‘turn table’ steering trailer which for many year has been the configuration of choice on 7.0 metre trailers providing that familiar ‘wheel at each corner ‘ configuration easing problems of weight distribution and allowing with step frame designs very low level floor platforms at the point of entry.

All this looks to be changing.

The regulations are not fully clear yet but it could be an alternative form of braking required, with electric or air operated systems currently under consideration, or it could be a matter of reverting to close coupled twin and tri axle configurations. At least with current tyre technology we should not be reverting to heavily speed restricted high capacity ‘plant type’ wheels and tyres which were the bane of our lives 15 or more years ago.

For the moment the simple solution is that if you want a 7.0 metre trailer with the best value reliable and existing technology get in quick and beat the new regulations.

The Internet and social media seem to be the only way a lot of companies do their business nowadays, and they’re correct to do so, they’re both huge markets and brilliant ways of doing business after all. However, you don’t get that first hand relationship with the customer or company online. For that reason, exhibitions and presentations are always going to be the most attractive proposition when it comes to reaching out to new clients. With exhibition trailers, you are able to display your product, allow customers to interact with it, and get immediate feedback from them, getting a real feel for what they’re buying.

When you set up at a trade or consumer exhibition, you’re there to do one of two things. Either you’re attempting to inform your targeted market of the product or service you can offer, or you’re there to increase sales and consumption. Attending exhibitions allows you to get out and talk to the right people, who are all gathered in the same place, without having to travel the length and breadth of the country.

It can also be a cost-cutting measure, enabling you to win in every sense. Marketing campaigns can be very expensive, with television, radio and online campaigns, as well as PR and promotions adding enormous costs at every turn, whilst having invested in your exhibition trailer, you can focus your efforts on getting out and making the sales and finding your new customers, encouraging them to come back in the future.

While advertising on the Internet and via social media platforms can be effective, you don’t reach everybody. A lot of people are still novices when it comes to using the Internet, so if you focus all of your efforts online, you’ll be missing a large proportion of your potential market. Attending exhibitions and letting people see your product or service in the flesh – the way things used to be – will enable everybody to become aware of just what it is you have to offer them.

With a tangible display, customers are able to approach the company, see the products and get a real feel for what they’re about to spend their hard-earned money on. People are much more likely to do business with a company who go about things the right way and make the best impression, something you can do with a fully fitted out and professionally designed trailer.

To find out more about how exhibition trailers can benefit you and your business, contact us at DWT today, where we will be happy to talk through all of your options, from the best size of trailer for your activity, hire and purchase options, and all the interior furnishings and design features including full graphics to make a truly outstanding impact, and what’s more, trailers have a long-life design and good residual values making them a sound investment.

Last time, we told you about the exhibition trailers in our range that you can use to promote your brand at exhibitions around the country. This week, it’s a look at something a bit more mobile.

If events aren’t the thing for your company, we also offer a range of roadshow hire vehicles, allowing you to take your brand around the country to find new customers or investors.

The DWT E52 trailer, a 13.6 metre trailer with large pod extension is the favourite of established brands such as Homebase among others, is the perfect option for taking your show on the road. With a welcoming walk-in platform, extensive working/demonstration area and separate ‘conference’ seating area all built in, all fully air conditioned, you have the ideal way for people to truly interact and find out more about your business.

The DWT H60 is a larger alternative, 14 metres long with pod and gullwing body extensions and offering more space to receive visitors and display your equipment and services, and giving you the chance to really promote your brand values. Whether it’s allowing customers to sample the products or offering expert advice on all areas of your industry, this trailer is perfect for events where you really want to get around and talk to people.

With air conditioning, roller shutter doors, suspended ceiling with high levels of lighting and onboard generator, the DWT E45 trailer is another brilliant on-the-road display vehicle. Large enough to make an impact but still small enough to drive around the country with ease, it has everything you could need to promote your brand. All trailers come with the appropriate access steps with disabled access lifts and ramp option according to model.

For more information on any of our exhibition trailers or roadshow vehicles, get in touch with the team at DWT Exhibition Trailers by calling our office on 01476 862 811. Look out for the second part in our series of services, where we go into detail about the packages on offer, including the internal and external designs of the trailers, and the graphics you can use to stand out from the crowd.
